Re: Brake booster question

OK, so is there going to be a noticeable difference between the boosters? I will definitely have to agree with 4drEF on replacing/swapping boosters as far as the joy of the job, so if I don't need to...

Brake booster question

I have a 90 Civic Si and I just picked up some EX knuckles and calipers. I am going to swap them in. I have no intention of swapping the rear to disks because I'm running HF aluminum drums out back....

Re: No start -Main relay buzzing, CEL Flickering....WTF?

Yeah, I'd start with a good, stock harness preferably out of a known running car and start from there. It will probably pay off in the long run instead of trying to fix another persons mistake.

Re: Just bought a used D series Si transmission

Yeah, you gotta take the trans apart to do the bearings. If you have any hesitations, get someone or pay someone who knows what they're doing to do it, it will pay off in the long run.

I'm not...

Re: No start -Main relay buzzing, CEL Flickering....WTF?

So the plugs are sparking without the wires connected while placed on the block??? WTHeck?! I really think you need to get a different wiring harness. Maybe you might have a short to ground...

Re: A/C help! open forum.

Check to see if theres wiring in the engine bay for the compressor clutch and the condenser fan and pressure switch. You will also need a relay for the compressor clutch and a bracket to mount the...

Re: No start -Main relay buzzing, CEL Flickering....WTF?

Any luck? How's the fuel pressure regulator? This thing was wired for OBDI at one time? Maybe you might want to try and find a complete Si/EX harness from the sounds of your electrical woes and swap...

Re: No start -Main relay buzzing, CEL Flickering....WTF?

Just a thought, you converted the car from DPFI to MPFI, do you have the injector resistor box squared away? The proper injectors are in there right? I know its kinda hard to diagnose without the car...

Re: No start -Main relay buzzing, CEL Flickering....WTF?

Man, sounds like you got you're hands full for a while! You said earlier the plugs were fouled, did you clean/replace them? Also, whats the compression at?

I think the problem still lies in the...

Re: Just bought a used D series Si transmission

Mainshaft bearing does go out. If you're comfortable taking the trans apart, I'd look at the gears and synchros, also check the filter/magnet in the tranny for any signs of wear.

Re: can u use motor oil in tranny ??

Why not buy a service manual? Honda ones are nice or I'm sure Haynes/Chilton will do.

Re: important ac questions

There are people who swear R12 systems are colder, but I've had a 93 EJ1 with an R12 system and a 95 EJ1 with a r134 system and they both felt about the same. If you still have the R12 system, I'd...

Re: No start -Main relay buzzing, CEL Flickering....WTF?

So are you definitely getting spark? If yes, this might be a dumb question, but are the wires in the correct order? Also, you said you were able to get it to turn over a few times. When it did, did...

Re: Cat back exhaust for 1990 hatchback

I've got the HKS cat back, looks stock, VERY quiet. If you look on the web, you'll find shops that still carry it at a decent price because I got mine only a few months ago.

Re: No start -Main relay buzzing, CEL Flickering....WTF?

So are you getting spark now and it's still not starting? If you're not getting spark, then make sure you're getting 12v/battery voltage to the distributor when the key is in the on or start...

Re: important ac questions

There should be a sticker on the inside of the engine bay that will give you the maximum and minimum amount of refrigerant to use. You should charge the system to the maximum amount but first check...
