If you haven't found out what the problem yet, check to see if the exhaust manifold is cracked between the 3rd and 4th cylinders.

I found out mine is and several others have had similar problems...

I know the fenders are not inner changeable. But I thought the whole front clip could be.

I found out my exhaust manifold is cracked on my 2001 with 120k on it and located a 2003 with a wrecked front end for 4k.

I am looking at a 2003 Ex which is damaged in the front it say salvaged, but thinking my clip form my 2001 with high miles would fit it. both are couples.

Problem solved the 1997 is junk, the dealer said it was a one owner.

I think the car was altered, as the mileage didn't match up with the wear on the car. Brake pedal worn to metal, steering...
