Rear Drum Brakes, Should I buy new drums or have them cut?
Rear Drum Brakes, Should I buy new drums or have them cut? I have a 2001 Honda Civic LX with 110k on it, mostly highway miles. I will need to change my back brakes. I know it is best to change rotors as the steel used it them is a lower grade than they use to be is this true of drums also?

Re: (blouisgod)
I am not asking if my brakes drums need cut. I am asking for information from someone who KNOWS about the quality of the drums.
THANK YOU
If I wanted, I wanted to have my brakes done for me, I would do that.

Drive along at highway speed and slightly pull up on the hand brake to check for vibration caused by 'out of round' drums.
If you have no vibration don't worry about having the drums turned.
This link is of Accord rear brakes but might help you with the brake job;
