I built a wooden vice out of 2x6 and a gate hinge for the purpose of tightening the counter shaft nut a long time ago. Car is looking good.

Zero extensions. 19mm deep impact socket and a half inch breaker bar. If you can't do it with that then just buy an impact and quit wasting time.

My 07 cracked the block with 126k or so back in 2015. I'll admit that I had been running straight water for a little less than a year when that happened and just before it did the transmission oil...
