Most of what I lock I never post in... these range from old threads that are dug up by trial users with useless replies or the threads that are truly worthless... most of these I end up deleting to avoid cluttering the active forum page.

lately muckman has beat me to a few, I sleep during the day for the most part... hence why my replies are at the asscrack of dawn lol.

Also I think that I will start this thread off with its first "forced induction" topic. I am looking for real world experience, not what my sister's mother's cousin told me. Has anyone had decent luck with any single disc clutches at the drag strip with slicks? Also what flywheel were you using? Please tell us how many passes at the drag strip with slicks you were able to make, what times were you running, and how much WHP and WTQ you are/were making? I have went through 2 different ACT clutches last season. I am making 329wtq and 513whp and don't want to dish out the money for a twin at the moment and the first IFO event in my area is a month and a half away.

I guess I am looking for around 20 passes at the drag strip with slicks? Is that wishful thinking? I am looking at the CC stage 4 and Clutchmasters FX400, both with the 6 puck sprung and upgraded pressure plate. I can get either or for around $400 plus whatever flywheel I decide on. I would definitely like to keep it under $700.

A metallic clutch disc is mandatory, an organic fiber disc would never stand up to the heat build up from having to feather/slip the clutch and from having to preload the drivetrain.

I've had really good results with the CC stage 5 and their 9lb flywheel but it all depends on how good you are with launching the vehicle.

Action 2MD pressure plate with an ACT sprung street disc. I ran 40+ passes on slicks on it, and it is now on its third different 500+ whp, 300+ lb/ft setup. Pressure plate has seen a hard life. It is on its second disc, but have not had issues with it. 9500 rpm shifts, and 6500-7000 rpm launches, no issues. I have not ever done a 3rd gear burnout on it though. Not really wanting to tempt fate there. On a Fidanza flywheel.

I just wanna say, I really enjoy hanging out in this particular section. I dont have a turbo on my car yet but ive learned a lot this past year by just reading the useful topics that have been posted and reading up on all the different components, builds, etc that are posted.

Also this off topic thread is long over due. It seems like recently theres been an uprise in similar questions being asked and necroposts

As you can see its very much a work in progress. Not sure if you can tell but my scrap metal rad mounts have some nasty *** booger welds thanks to my noobishness and crappy harbor freight flux core welder. At least the welds are solid.

Its a b18a1, 81.5mm, 10.7:1 srp pistons, eagle rods, etc. Stickin with the LS head. Im setting all the clearances for boost even though it wont happen for another year or so.
