I've actually never used black RTV, so I don't know what the quality is like...I was referring to the red RTV, and from experience, this stuff is useless to seal anything against oil. Other uses...

Don't use RTV...oil will break it down, and it will soften up, and leak. This is the least of your worries...what you have to worry about is it being broken down by the oil, then circulating through...
