Have you eliminated the tires as the source of your problem? Sometimes you can get a bubble on the tire tread and get a thump with every rotation.

You might check to see if you have blown head gasket. Water seeping into your oil as the engine cools, thus raising the volume of liquid in your oil pan.

Check to make sure your rotor is not loose on the distributor shaft. I believe the rotor on your car does not have a screw, but is kept in place via metal strip spring insert type thing.

There's nothing unique about the pressed on rotor you have I have the same thing on my 91 accord. I don't recall ever having a problem getting it off, it's just held in place by a metal strip spring...

I wasn’t suggesting doing away with your EGR, I was just asking if you had given any consideration to your problems being EGR related. Your EGR valve should be closed at idle and at the higher rpms...
