Update! The catalytic converter was hollowed out...... had exhaust shop replace it....when I looked in the cat, I could see right through it Lolz ....new cat. And an exhaust leak welded up....... now...

Yea in in s.d. (east county now) no c.e.l. car has decent power climbs hills and all that. I think I can feel a slight mis-fire at times. Thanks for the info! I got some reading to do after work...

Thanks for the reply! It would be so great if just timing adjustment and a new cat. Would get the numbers low enough to pass!!

I forgot to mention/ask about the failed egr valve; could somethin...

car is an automatic...all stock w/over 200k miles... I knew it would fail smog but not this bad!!

any advice is appreciated! besides adjusting the timing (forward) and installing a new cat....

'90 ex stock....what size tires!?

My g/f has a '90 ex all stock (well rims are cheap non oem 14's") but stock height and all too.... well the tires on car are 185/70r14 and that seems to be an odd ball size(uncommon @least) well...

Thanks for the help.....jus tried it(me in pass. Seat my girl drivin) not excessive(imo) play in the ignition....an didn't cause it to cut out.

I don't know what's causin this...drivin me crazy!

its a 1990 accord ex (auto) w/about 208,000 miles on it stoc everything (except aftermarket alarm)


no c.e.l. and no codes stored on ecu


but when driving (freeway speeds) the car cuts out...

Its a 1990 ex accord (4door) with original radio..... well it had a loose wire wht/yel (constant power) well long story short.... the wht/yel wire touched the red/blk (light-on signal) it sparked and...

I can't find an accord wiring diagram anywhere (tried google) how close are the wires for civic? I do have a chiltons 84-95 civic book

Ok so fuse still works an I tested to see if brake lights now function.


If your standing behind the car...imagine the lights are numbered 1-2-3-4 (#5 is in rear window)

Well lights #1 and #3...

Thank you! Just pulled the 30a...still been reading so tryin to troubleshoot best I can....both horns are unplugged and I put a 20a fuse bac n the horn slot.....I hit the horn(no sound ofcourse) but...

Ok 1st of all I'm doin this from my phone since I have no internet...which means its been hard to do a real search (but I have been doin as much readin as I can)

Ok its a stock '90 ex accord, jus replaced the alt. Last week(doubt that has anythin 2do w/it tho)
Car still has the honda tape deck in it...well the radio will not remember preset stations as soon...

ok the car is actually my girlfriends its a '92 ex (auto) everything all stock!


replaced an old (almost) dead batt. bout 3 months ago with a new battery...everything has been fine..... a few...
