its a 1990 accord ex (auto) w/about 208,000 miles on it stoc everything (except aftermarket alarm)
no c.e.l. and no codes stored on ecu
but when driving (freeway speeds) the car cuts out (for like a second) and then kix bac on....right now is sporadic but feels like its getting worse! (just started a few days ago)
where do i start???

we're in the same boat. easiest fix is probably the relay under the dash. worn out solder over time and miles. some guys drop new solder on the old part, others take a chance on ebay. I replaced the distributor because it has a chip in the middle of it that goes bad - didn't help. I have a new fuel pump - but you've got to drop the tank in 1990 so that will take me being in a better mood, the fuel filter was easy - but be careful with the charcoal canister nipple - it can snap easily if the rubber vacuum hose sticks. Buy a can of SeaFoam and dump it in the gas. It may clean out some crud, doesn't hurt.

What accessories and lights are on when your car cuts out. I doubt it's a fuel pump, don't throw parts at it, diagnose the problem.

I would say Ignition Module (Ignitor) but usually a bad Ignitor cuts you off with no kicking back on. Has your Accord ever had the O2 Sensor replaced? Is there any ongoing stumble or bogdown accompanying the engine cutting off? A really old O2 can fail with no code and cause a condition similar to a miss but is really more a choking because of the bad air/fuel mix the bad info from the bad oxygen sensor sends to the ECU > IACV and eventually the combustion chambers. It becomes a drivability issue if it's bad enough.
