Default electrical issue no brake lights/horn (90 accord) plz help!

Ok 1st of all I'm doin this from my phone since I have no internet...which means its been hard to do a real search (but I have been doin as much readin as I can)

1990 accord ex about 210,xxx miles automatic

Was informed that brakes lights stopped working (while drivin down the street)
All 5 lights(rear window) didn't work when I hit brake pedal....but tail lights, hazards, blinkers work an all lights worked when arming (viper) car alarm.... so brake lights(bulbs work an wiring seems good)...except 4braking

Brake switch works and dosent stic.

Horn fuse under keeps blowing(20amp) and brake lights, horn, cruise cont. All stopped working (I put a 30a fuse in horn slot(I kno its bad) ) now some brake lights work @ times.

Also for a while the shift lock stuc...an had to use key to shift.....well now since the light issue....I don't need a key for the shift lock?

Please help w/any info....I can't afford to get this car impounded(or tix) but I can't work w/out car.

First off, pull out that 30 amp fuse! If you start a fire your brake lights and horn will be the last of your worries. Once you've done that start tracing the wires from the tail lights. I believe they run down the driver's side. You probably have cracked insulation on one of the positive wires.

Are the brake lights working now that the horn buttons are disconnected? If so the problem is probably horn related.

Ok so fuse still works an I tested to see if brake lights now function.

If your standing behind the car...imagine the lights are numbered 1-2-3-4 (#5 is in rear window)

Well lights #1 and #3 work (#2-#4- an #5 still do not work)

Does that help narrow anything down? I really appreciate your help btw

That would lead me back to the wiring (assuming you have checked the bulbs and sockets). get a multi meter or at least a test light and check for power. I prefer to start at the source when checking wiring but since its a PITA to get to brake light wiring I would start at the socket and work towards the front.

Since the fuse is no longer blowing it could possibly be bad grounds causing those lights not to work. You may want to find a wiring diagram for your car. Google has them.

Check your PM.

The Horn diagram can be found on page 1848.
I'm having a hard time locating the Brake Light wiring diagram.

Not following your "numbers" for the lights.

Replace the bulbs that are not working with new ones.
