Re: My 500cc 2-stroke...Vids

And here I was all excited to maybe see a CR500R like my old one, a KX500 or perhaps even a Quadzilla.

Looks like a ton of fun though! I need a camera.

Re: Picked up a Little Project... CB550 (Project Thread)

I like it a lot!

That reminds me, I need to ask my co worker how much he wants for his CB175. He has been bugging me to buy it for a while... might be a fun project for next winter.

Re: Thinking of buying 2011 crb600rr

First post in... it's been a long time.

Anyhow, as a rider of an '09 600rr (mechanically identical to the '11) and previous owner of a (now wrecked) '07 600rr I can attest to the bike's greatness;...

Re: G-man's rear lower tie bar for 88-91 civic

No, it actually hasn't upset me in the least. It did, however, provide me with entertainment off and on throughout the day. I truly admire the spirit in which it was made (which I mentioned at least...

Re: G-man's rear lower tie bar for 88-91 civic

Awe yes, being 2 and a half. I think my dad had me rebuilding small blocks by that age. That was back when you were allowed to beat your kids though, so when I messed up the torque sequence on the...

Re: G-man's rear lower tie bar for 88-91 civic

Get under your car with a piece of cardboard and cut it to shape. Use that as a template and take it to a metal shop, they can easily cut it for you.

Re: G-man's rear lower tie bar for 88-91 civic

I'm not sure he knows. If you could get the dimensions, it would take all of 7 minutes to achieve what he did. For the record, a hacksaw could easily make the cuts you need and a drill bit could make...

Re: G-man's rear lower tie bar for 88-91 civic

We don't all have a Master's degree Max. Perhaps he could explain it in "I actually thought more than 2 seconds about this" terms?

He can't, because it isn't.

He can't, because he is.

Which is why I am making valid, scientifically sound and practical suggestions on how you could easily improve upon this.

Like I said, I am not a chassis engineer but as one who works in the metallurgy field I am appalled not only by your choice of materials, but your blatant disregard to improve your product.

Do...

Re: G-man's rear lower tie bar for 88-91 civic

I am willing to say my 510 is a safer road, track, auto-x or rally vehicle than his Honda. The sad thing is that it came out of barn and cost nothing. OP, can you beat the cost of free? Your brace...

You'll learn that Max and I are both really knowledgeable guys who truly wish the best for you and your car; however, our method of critique is harsh, some would even call it 'Kills Esq'. I challenge...

Re: G-man's rear lower tie bar for 88-91 civic

I think it is fair to assume the OP chose the BREAKS* design because it was the easiest to copy in his place of fabrication.

Is it possible that it holds together and works well? Absolutely! Is...

Re: G-man's rear lower tie bar for 88-91 civic

On my DB8 I was using stock RLCAs, and at times stock ITR RLCAs. I never found issue with them, largely due to rest of the chassis being a wet noodle. I see the OPs car is caged, so perhaps he was...

I would like to start by telling you how great it is that you went out of your way to build this on your own... I'd like to. Like being the key word.

DIY stuff is great if done right, and in many...
