you do realize that VTEC is not for racing, its for street cars.
race cars dont need VTEC, motors designed for racing will not have it, there is no reason for it. the only good thing about VTEC is...

well the fact that it should be in the "motor hall of fame" with the
sylvia motor (SR20DET)
the 2nd gen mr2 turbo motor
supra motor

oh and the fact that it has one of the best rod to stroke...

reliability is an issue for me since i have 121K mi
also the cheapest turbo that i would want to assemble would cost me at least $2000
plus with cams i can always go turbo later. and 10-15 hp is...
