why noone ever put CRV tranny into Integra?
i know the wheelbase of the 4 door is about 3in longer than the 2 door and the 4 dr wb (atleast looking at it) looks as ong as the CRV, so if one could swap the CRV drivetrain parts into a 4dr integra couldnt you essentially make a 4wd 4dr integra?
has anyone tried this? would it work or am i on crack thinking this would even be possible?

shouldnt really be that big a deal since the tranny is coming off a B20 and would bolt up to a b18, the CRV has independent suspension so its not like ud be dealing with solid axles
i would be very susrprised if noone has ever tried this

I've sat behind a crv in traffic thinking the exact same thing, but the stance on the CRV is at least 6 to 8 inches higher than an integra. I don't think the geometry would work out in the rear of the integra. Honda did make an AWD integra in japan though...

I dont think anyone wants a 130 hp AWD teg. I say this because supposedly the drivetrain cant handle much more torque than the stock crv. Any more power and you will have differential soup.

i seriously doubt that any increase in power would destroy it, im sure a CRV drivetrain could handle 200whp
anyone ever try to mate up a DSM drivetrain?

in one of the mags i read i think it was hci they put a gsr head on a crv with no problems. i bet it had close to 200 hp and more weight which would be a lot harder on it than in a teg.

it was a prototype thing, no pics, no official word, just rumors.
it was done in the early 90s.

thats why david burschur uses an auto on his eclipse which is rwd because it is slower. in the overall horsepower gain the big guys are already making too much power and consistency is the key to winning and an auto lets you do that. and a properly built automatic only looses 10 to 15 percent horsepower and usually puts a great deal of torque to the ground. now stock to stock the stick will have the auto beat but in a racing situation the auto has its advantages. and the only reason we dont see imports using autos much is because factory import autos are weak and our engines lack the torque required to use them efficiently. also stall would have to be set at the torque peak which is sometimes around 5000 rpm or higher.

Yes, I believe they are. I think they're only 4 door too...
Here's some info on it: http://www.team-integra.net/sections...?ArticleID=478

Re: why noone ever put CRV tranny into Integra? (johnisenglish)
a lot of people told me when i started my turbo project to just go buy a 1g DSM and build that up, i dont always buy into statements like that but in this case im thining it would be better to just go buy a DSM if you want a small AWD turbo car
hell it would probably be easier to fab up a DSM drivetrain to an Integra

AWD integras exist in japan, but the prototype supercharged (by honda) one doesn't.
