Re: ***EXPO 11 @ Carolina Motorsports Park, SC June 11th and 12th - Registration OPEN

Some participants are pretty solid shade-tree mechanics, and are comfortable looking at their cars and determining whether they will be safe on track. Other participants aren't so mechanically...

Re: OG thinking about getting back into an ITR

Todd!!! Do it, you should get another R. Heck if you and Wes both get R's again, then maybe I should get one again.

It appears that 540-899-2940 is a fax or data line.

Is SMS Products still in business?

Dave's telephone number listed on his website does not ring through. His business email address is no longer working. Did he close shop, or did he simply change his contact information and not...

Re: Sleeving recommended for d16a6 overbore?

This is my race car, it's not street legal. I figure on putting 25-30 hours on the engine each year, but they're hard miles. If I can get 2 or 3 years out of it before a rebuild, I'd be happy.

Re: Sleeving recommended for d16a6 overbore?

Exo, don't get me wrong, I appreciate your advice. At this point I have 2 very credible opinions, but they are opposite opinions. It seems the right thing for me to do is try to gather more...

Re: Sleeving recommended for d16a6 overbore?

Thank you, I know the FSM says .5 mm is the maximum. I could be way off base, but it seems to me that Honda wouldn't approve of a 1 mm piston when they don't make a 1 mm piston. Honda also doesn't...

Re: Sleeving recommended for d16a6 overbore?

The manual says the reboring limit is .5 mm.

I've talked with one guy who says he has built a few d16a6 engines with a 1 mm overbore, without sleeving, and had no reliability problems. I was...

Sleeving recommended for d16a6 overbore?

The machine shop was boring my block out to 75.25 mm, but they went too far on one cylinder. Now the plan is to bore the block out to either 75.5 mm or 76 mm. The 75.5 mm would be the honda...

Excellent idea. I checked the grounds last night and they were solid.

I'm not sure if the rules allow me to baffle the gas tank. If it is indeed a bad design for the tank, I may get a newer...

Re: Stuttering in high-g left-hand turns (Disco Monkey)

I wasn't aware the gas tank was changed from '89 to '90, that's very interesting. My gas level is staying well above half, although my cornering forces are a lot higher than the average street crx...

Stuttering in high-g left-hand turns

I'm hoping somebody has heard of this issue. It's a 1989 crx si, mostly stock, ITA race car. The car stutters and hesitates in left-hand turns, both slow turns and fast turns. The stuttering feels...
