Rookie here. Just got a 93 bone stock integra and has some dings and a long (around a foot) but shallow dent. Should i try out doing the paintless dent removing thing? Looks easy to learn but then again i wouldn't want to make things worse. I mean, the car is pretty clean otherwise. If ever you guys do think i should try it out, what are the basics from the kit that i should have? Would greatly appreciate your inputs. Thanks.

you think it's pretty simple? the dude who worked on 3 of my cars took couple years to learn the trick.

if it's really easy what is the point dealer hiring someone outside to do PDR?

just to give you some idea: i do body work and paint and almost everything you can do to a car mechanically wise and i don't even want to try pdr.

Don't try it. You need the tools to begin with, plus the technique. Speaking from someone that works at a PDR shop, I would definitely NOT attempt it.

haha no I know what it stands for, what is the technique and why is it so hard, sounds like some secret force that shouldn't be used, like ryu and akuma what was it, the dark shonen, iono

Its a technique where you remove dents without damaging the paint

Last time i saw it being done the guy used small rods to reach the dent from the inside and push them out - make a mess of it and you could have an outwards dent which would be even worse!

The PDR guys call those "high spots". They always happen but the trick is being able to create the least amount of high spots possible and then knowing how to tap them back down.

Leave it to a professional.
11 years in the business here, don't skimp on this, just pay top dollar for the best work.
Get the most experienced/recommended tech to fix the dings/dents.
