My two cents without pictures:

HIDs are dead and LEDs are in!

LED bulbs are great. I got a kit for under 60$, using the phillips style bulb with the "wing" for my h4 bulbs. I have a cutoff near stock on my EK, no more blinding people! And there's no bootup time.

How 'bout some details on what kit you used? I still haven't seen a really good halogen drop-in, and properly retrofit HID are still the current top o' the heap IMO. I'm optimistic for sure though.

Morimoto/Retrofit Source has retrofit MLED projectors coming soon too, I'm excited to see those.

Is it on sell yet? I've looking at koito's bi-LED setup. Its not that bad. There's a chinese brand that actually has better output but I'm concern that they just overdrived the LED and that would cause it to burn out sooner.

They're in a testing phase. If you watch their FB they have them on their personal vehicles and such. I just did a retro after leaving my parts in a box for two years and change so I'm officially off the market but my interest continues!

I suggest looking into bi-led projectors that have dual led's in them. Better width

I forgot to take a before shot, but here's an after shot. There's no street light on this street, but the light is super bright. I would say it's 80% of the brightness of HID, but because of the FluxBeam lens on the LED, the light spread is more even and HID. I like it so far, let's hope it lasts a few years.
So an update on this, the left bulb finally completely died today (it has 2 LEDs on it, 1 LED died about 6 months ago). So expect these higher powered actively cooled LED kits to last about 2-3 years. I just bought another kit of the same design, but now it's even cheaper at $32. Even for $50 I was happy with 2.5 year of life, if this cheaper kit can last me another 2.5 years I'll be happy.

Have a 1996 accord EX. Bought a pair of 9006 equivalent 72W/pair with fan. I put them in and they won't turn on. https://www.amazon.com/Treedeng-Headlight-Conversion-Approved-Waterproof/dp/B07DMHT4DG/ref=mp_s_a_1_fkmrnull_3?keywords=9006+led+headligh t+bulbs+treedeng&qid=1551151112&s=gateway&sr=8-3-fkmrnull
I put back the old halogens and they still work. Any ideas?
