K24Z3 TSX BLOCK + K20 HEAD??
So I cant find a definitive answer anywhere on any forum using any kind of google search or bing as to whether you can slap any K20 heads onto a K24Z3 block (out of a TSX to be more specific). My boy wants to throw and frankenstein into his EM2. Chime in plz, thanks. Gonna get answers for myself directly...

Finally someone chimed in lol. So is an R40 headgasket an aftermarket gasket made for this or just a stock gasket for a certain motor? What are the options as far as K20 heads? Any of em as long as we use an R40 headgasket?

You can't use a K20 tchain with a K24 engine, its shorter.
You need to stick with a K24 tchain.
Just some observations...
Cheetah, correct me if I'm wrong, but the lighter exhaust cam gear might not be a good idea to use because of the valvetrain harmonics on the A2 head. Not to mention, A2 exh cam is three-lobed vs k24z3's single lobe exh cam. There's a reason the exhaust cam gear is heavier on the A2 head.
There's also the K24Z3's RL5 piston in-between valve pocket humps. They may make contact with the A2 combustion chamber.
this pic pwns me...

Re: K24Z3 TSX BLOCK + K20 HEAD??
you must use gasket that follow the head.
in this case u must use K24Ax (TSX < 09) Head gasket and then modify on the block the oil passage.
From slot to circular.
If need, i have pics of that modify

Re: K24Z3 TSX BLOCK + K20 HEAD??
OK I'm lost do you need a K24Z3 head gasket or a K24A2 head gasket for the K24Z3 Block/ K20A2 Head build?
There are mixed answers and I'm not sure who is right.

Re: K24Z3 TSX BLOCK + K20 HEAD??
You must use the K24A one and modify the oil passage or by welding or by JB Weld.
I used JB Weld because I found the oil leakage at the end of the swap and I didn't want remove again the block from the car for welding and grinding.
You must make the slot oil passage from circular to a slot.
I update just some pics of the whole work here for you, buddy.
The gasket that I used is on the right. On the left is K24Z3

Re: K24Z3 TSX BLOCK + K20 HEAD??
It's more so for the vtec on both cams and better cam selection (there are only two options for z blocks right now, and both are regrinds).
No one I know running the z pattern stock bottom end is running it past 8k, from what I have seen. I know I wouldn't do it.

Re: K24Z3 TSX BLOCK + K20 HEAD??
what i remember is:
complete head from k20 ep3 (eudm 2.0 200cv)
blok 73mm TB
RBC intake manifold
Skunk megapower exhaust manifold
oem ep3 injectors on K tuned fuel rail
CUSTOM chain cover (there is no one that fit on Z block with A head, i have pics of modifies)
K2xA pulser plate (K pro cannot works without it)
ep3 oil pump
ep3 baffle
ep3 oil pan
ep3 ckp sensor
ep3 engine harness
water pump should be from K20z4 (drilled and threaded a new fixing hole on the block)
P/S pump should be from K24A2
rev limit around 7.600rpm, 252 cv at the flywheel
