Re: Finally Brought It Home
Remember that this shifter you have your hand on is directly connected to the transmission below, unlike your type r with a cable shifter connected to the transmission up by the front wheels, so you will feel much more of the mechanical happenings in there.
Also do nice easy slow shifts until it is warmed up all the way. Even if all three bars are lit up for the engine temp, the transmission fluid will still have a while before warming up. The shifting can feel especially notchy until everything is warmed up.

Re: Finally Brought It Home
Congrats on the purchase!
As for the fluids, cheap maintenance like that is always good insurance whenever you buy a used car, even one with 15k miles. You never know how it was driven by the previous owner. I'd replace the major ones that are due at 30k.

Dang. I traded in my almost mint (couple scratches on front bumper) NFR '08 with only 2,200 miles on it and OEM hardtop for 20K. I wonder what they sold it for. I know I could have sold it privately for much more but I was in a hurry to make a deal on a new car. I take it NFRs aren't that popular though.

Congrats on the car. I had the fluids replaced as well, just to be safe. It's a small investment that gave me piece of mind. As for driving a convertible, it certainly is a different experience... one that I'm happy about. The fresh air is great and there's something to be said for driving to feel like an outdoor activity.
