Default Finally Brought It Home

Well everyone been on the forum for awhile roaming the Type R forum but now I can roam here as I brought home sunday my new to me 2008 S2000 with 14k for 20grand traded in my 300C, had fun driving the back roads of FL with the top down on the way home. Does anyone know the maintence for 15k? I don't have the service book I am thinking of just going to Honda and having all the fluids flushed and oil change and lube everything. Also is it normal for these cars to grab hard when switiching gears almost like grinding? I know my integra did a little. Thanks look forward too meeting some fellow Orlando members Tyler

At 15k, I'd probably just have them change out the motor oil and diff fluid. Dunno what to tell you about the rest. Congrats on your upgrade tho!

yeah, the "solid" shift feel is normal. there's no linkages to soften the shift any, the transmission is below that shifter haha

welcome to the club! and 20k for an 08' is a pretty good buy especially considering it's from a dealership! At 15k i would just change the oil, and diff fluid if you feel the need.

nice one! what color?

I just picked up an 04 GPW s2000. It's completely stock but fun as hell. -the clutch and transmission remind me of my old GSRs (of course turned up to 11).

I've never had a convertible before and goddamn, the same road I've been taking to work the past 5 years is completely different now :D

Oil, tranny fluid, rear diff, brake fluid, and maybe the air cabin filter. Should be minimal $$ if you do it all at home.

Congrats as well - had my 04 GPW for 4 years as well as love it!

Way overkill at 15k! All I would do is the oil right now... However, wherever you bought it from may have already done it recently. Rear end would be second on the list but honestly, it can wait.

Its dark gray and I think I'm going to do oil and alignment, I think the front bumper has been painted which bums me cause the top where it meets the front fender is kind of flaking a little bit I'll ask the dealer to just give it a 150pt inspection I guess just to make sure

Most likely the dealer already changed the oil. I wouldn't worry about the tranny or diff fluid till 30k or so.

The owner's manual contains the maintenance items. I'm willing to bet that you haven't checked the secret compartment for the owner's manual yet?

As far as maintenance, what do you mean by rear end? Anyone know here.

Good find!! I would just change the fluids amd thats it! That car still has done breaking in to do. Check to see of the top is weakening in the corners and would take care of that immediately

just to be safe. I would change out oil, transmission fluid, differential fluid. check the brake and clutch fluid. It only a 1-2 hour job. why not give your baby fresh fluids.

Thats what I did when I got my 06 GPW.
