Default Mushy Transmission Feel

So I was just driving around and I went to fifth gear and the shifter feel was really mushy I then checked all gears and they felt the same. It's not as precise or a nice feel anymore. I've noticed some leaking oil under right where the tranny is attached to the motor. I also have Polyurethane shifter bushings. Any ideas???

Oil by where engine and tranny join. Your rear main seal most likely is going. And mushy meaning? like sloppy shifting? wigglyness? kinda hard to feel what u feel..

Well the shifter just feels like mush. Its not a direct feel at all. It will go into gear but with a very crappy feel.

the bushings are only a few months old. I'm gonna go get some oil at the store in a lil bit. 10w-30 right?

if you bought HONDA MTF from the dealer (2 quarts) you'll notice that when you shift, it'll feel like you're cutting butter with a hot knife... at least that's what mine felt like. Mine was the new formula. But if you dont want authentic stuff, 10w30 will do just fine.. jsut wont be as soft

Alright so I put some 10w-30 oil in the tranny and it fixed the problem. Are there any seals i should check for leakage? I know It's leaking becuase I can see some on my garage floor every day.

If it's coming from under the flywheel cover, it's most likely your mainshaft oil seal.

Otherwise, check out your axle seals.

I assume that the mainshaft oil seal will be a bitch to get at? I'm gonna get under there and check out the axle seals.

yep, gotta pull the tranny off to change it, its fun, lol, Very cheap seal, and very easy to change once you pull tranny off.
