I was thinking that a clogg would cause a car to run more rich. Would someone mind a short explination on the mechanism that causes the car to run lean? I could see maybe if the car was running really rich and causing alot of flame in the manifold that might cause high temps.
Good luck to the OP

Re: (M@)
just unbolt it and deal with header back for a while, then see if your header glows. if it does then the problem is before your exhaust system or w.e..
idk would save you time not taking cat thinggy all the way off..

It is. Its a "test pipe" that looks like a cat for all the states that have harsh exaust regulations. Theres no way the cats clogged theres nothing there TO clog. If you cars hauling *** i highly doubt you have an exaust blockage! Infact ide put money on it! You would have a huge drop in power. My car ran like 60 hp when my cat clogged.

Re: (NowABeliever)
Ok heres what I got, Last night I took the "pipe" off and like some of you said there is NO blockage so I also looked threw the pipes to se if I could see any obstructions and could not. The prob with the manifold turning red didnt start hapening till my new 8lb flywheel install so could it just be that the crank is moving faster and pushing more out the manifold and the stock one needs to be replaced with a header? I have an old 429 thats built to run and the pipes turn red on it but its pushin alot of power so I am just wondering whats up with my little prelude
