Re: Wrenching Your EF
Been working on my sedan but just keep getting bad news the more I dig in. What started out being just a blowed hg, turned out to be a bad cylinder all around. Debating weather to swap to b or just find d16 and do the dpfi to mpfi swap.

Picked up a dpfi to obd1 mpfi boomslang harness locally for the sedan for $100 yesterday. Now just to find a motor to drop in with matching ecu. b or d who knows only the upull it will decide.

Dash is all together minus center console, got my 90-91 rear outer seat brackets installed today, as well as my carpet. also ordered my clutch today, bought an f1 racing stage 3 since it supports the power i'm aiming for, and i've had good luck with f1 racing before. car is finally coming together and looking like a car again, can't wait to drive it and feel boost in my own car for the first time.

Re: Wrenching Your EF
biggest problem on these older motors is leaving the head off, the sedan i had ran great and didn't smoke at all but burned coolant until i pulled the head off, what happens i believe is the carbon and oil build up on the oil and compression rings dries out and seizes the rings to the pistons, which is what happened on my d15, which allows tons of oil to blow by and be combusted because the rings aren't able to expand and scrape off the excess oil. pretty much you have to have a spare head ready, and pull yours off and slap the new one on right away or you're looking at pulling the pistons to clean up everything.

Clutch Pedal Assembly Finally finished and gave out on me... sad day at least I had another one ready for when it happened the only thing is the spring set up.... One has a really hard almost locking into place spring (top pic) and the other just has one on the side to pull back the pedal (bottom pic) Im putting them in today should I wait is it the wrong set up I got it out of a 91 Si so it was weird that its different...?

Re: Wrenching Your EF
After looking around for a long time I found some side molding for my CRX. I started restoring it yesterday by scraping the non OEM paint off and wet sanding with some 400 grit paper, they look better in terms of scratches but are a bit dull at the moment. I think if I use some polishing compound or oil on them they'll look fairly close to new. Sorry for the lack of pictures.

so I got tired of my ef si just cranking . and giving me some depression. so I bought me rear speaker pods and cargo cover. also all round new speakers 250wats with deh-x8500bh pioneer radio of the year. just finished installing it. sounds great! but back to step one... engine just cranks and rolls over. unsure If its my fuel rail. fuel injectors fuel resistor box. fuel lines or fuel pump even! possibly even my ecu got wet from those rusty holes in my bucket!..

Re: Wrenching Your EF
update went to harbor freight today and brought a 20 ton press to do my bushings and bearings
i pressed in my front bearings and arp studs also checked to make sure my oem bbk would fit nice with no problems and it did.
also did a small write up on my build thread on the bearing check it out.
