With the car on the ground, loosen the axle nut and the lug nuts. Lift the car and remove the lug nuts, the wheel, and the axle nut.
Unbolt the brake line from the shock. Unclip the brake line from the fender well and then unscrew it from the rigid line that runs into the engine bay (use line wrench to avoid stripping and damage).
Locate the lower ball joint (attaches knuckle to the lower control arm). Remove cotter pin and remove castle nut.
Locate the steering tie rod. Remove cotter pin and castle nut.
Locate upper control arm. Remove cotter pin and castle nut from upper ball joint.
Remove knuckle.

I did this last week. I bough a spare set of knuckles that I had new wheel bearings and ball joints installed in. With my friend helping, we did both sides in less than 45 minutes. You will need a breaker bar for the axle nuts, new axle nuts, and a ball joint separator.
