Default another timing belt thread

timing belt snapped. d16a6. 107 tooth belt. great. got a replacement 107 tooth belt, fantastic. my problem is, this new belt is nice and snug around the tensioner/water pump, but is loose as a god damn goose crank to cam. loose to the point it WILL rub the timing cover and has enough play to potentially skip a tooth. what the hell???

you put it on wrong. You must put it on crank to cam first then slip it over the water pump and tensioner last

you obviously didnt tension the belt properly. and its more than just how you slip it on.

you have to use loosen the tensioner bolt a couple turns, DO NOT REMOVE COMPLETELY or even get close to the end of threads.

then turn the pulley about a 1/4 turn or more.

then tighten the tensioner bolt.
