wire up abs in a non abs car
I want to utilize the hondata traction control module that just came out. I have the s300 and a 97 ex with a p28ecu. Will I be able to order some sensors and just wire them into my ecu? Or does it get more complicated than that?

he doesn't want ABS. he just needs a rear abs signal for the traction control unit.
to get that sensor in, you're gonna have to drill and tap the hole for the sensor, along with using an ABS hub.

Hondata's TCM doesn't need factory ABS. There are optional sensors available through Hondata (as well as a couple other companies) that will plug in for the TCM to read. If you have an LSD, you can get away with one sensor. If you don't, you'll need two.
It's actually quite simple to set all of this up.

It's actually a really cool system. It's not traction control in the sense of ABS (it doesn't give a **** about the brakes), it can just use the ABS signal if you have it. It also isn't like traction control on 99% of factory cars where it exists as a safety feature. It doesn't gimp the car to worthless as soon as it thinks you're losing traction. It functions more like launch control on high end cars - you keep your foot down, it does the hard work for you.

So I called king motorsports and they had some good info also. All ya need is to make sure that you have the appropriate hubs to fit the sensors and prepare to drill and tap into your hubs. Otherwise abs Sensors can be found pretty easy. For best results you want it on all wheels of course. Also helps in autocross so now you can't oversteer into a tree lol

Could I just use a integra gsr abs sensor and hub Assembly for the back? I believe I have a gsr rear disk kit sitting in my garage. Could just wide it up in the front.

You'll only need those parts if you plan on using the OEM bastardization your shop mentioned. There are other alternatives, like I mentioned. Make sure you look into all of your options before latching onto one.

Assuming the factory TCS is like every other factory TCS on every car that doesn't cost a small fortune, they're in completely different leagues. One is made to gimp the car for safety, the other is made to make it easier to go stupidly fast.

I guess that's what I was getting at: Given the feature was only available on the top-market EGs (versus the grocery getters), is it undoubtedly correct that they implemented it to 'gimp' the car? Not a lot of ppl on this board with first-hand experience with this feature on these EGs, but I guess I wouldn't be surprised if it's the 'gimp' option.

Re: wire up abs in a non abs car
I don't even think proper race-oriented TCS were available on truly high end cars until fairly recently. They were used in the early 90's in F1, but were stupidly complicated, and banned. They were only re-allowed in 2002. Since you're talking 92-95, I'm really inclined to say they're the "gimp the car" kind, and were only included because the top-market trims had the power to warrant it, for safety.
And no, I didn't know the F1 stuff off the top of my head, I had to Google it for reference
