Strange bogging/hesitation issue- 95 Civic
Hi all, have a problem I am stumped with at the moment. Car is a 95 Civic EX, AT. Motor is a d16y7, all z6 accessory parts, b7 distributor, p06 ecu. Have done this swap before with no issues, and this one was running great until yesterday. It will idle all day just fine, and drive for a short while before any problems emerge. The hesitation/bogging seems to appear when the speedometer cuts out. I replaced the VSS with a spare, same issue. If I pop it in neutral, it will rev fine, and if I downshift like a manual trans, it picks back up, but it struggles to accelerate in drive. No cel's, new plugs, new wires, and swapped distributors with a spare for fun. I think the problem is somehow tied into the VSS issue. Any ideas?

The VSS gets voltage from 15A dash fuse 24, which also supplies voltage to the main relay and fuel pump. You may want to voltage test both sides of fuse 24. Are voltages similar or different on each side?

Try spray cleaning the MAP sensor electrical connector with PB Blaster. It fixed the bogging issues with my 93 del sol si auto. When you reconnect the connector use some force. Also replace the vacuum hose line from this sensor to the vacuum canister. It's about a foot long and 1/4 inch. Got it at Ace Hardware.
