Need help b16a2 swap in my '00 hatch
ok heres the deal, my 99 si was stolen and the dumbass thieves ran the car into the ditch bashed all the windows and took the climate control. Everything else is still there. Im planning on swapping the motor into my 2000 dx hatch. I know how to put the motor in and what not but in not exactly sure what I have to do with the wiring? Will i have any issues or will the si engine harness just plug and play into my hatch? It seems really simple but this is my first non native engine swap. Any tips and pointers would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

i have never done it on a 96-00 body style, but converted my hatch to power windows using sedan parts and it was a bolt in affair... i would imagine it is the same for you as it was for me

It was a pain in the *** to do because you would have to take apart your whole rear interior, panels, 2 front seats, and carpet in order to remove the stock floor harness.. but I think its totally worth it. Its very easy but it seems complicated

Everything is plug and play, done both already, swap, pw and even pl. you are lucky to have one to part out from. i would say do the brakes, MC, 40/40, booster, front and rear sway also. wont regret it.

Re: Need help b16a2 swap in my '00 hatch
I just installed power windows/mirrors/locks(pending a dash harness install) 99-00 Civic
Everything which was said prior is correct, but you will have to change out your dash harness if you want power locks, because the lock control box connects directly to it.
Also, if you have a rear wiper now, you won't have use of it afterwards.. since the 3 wires which are removed from your factory floor harness... and then plugged into the Si floor harness. There are 3 open spots in the rear section near the rear seat connector, but as for the fuse box connector.. the wire spots are occupied by "security system" and/or "power locks" wires.
If you have no intentions or desire to use the rear wiper then who cares.. but if you want to, I guess it would be possible to tap into those 3 locations. Although who knows how this will actually work if/when you install the dash harness to utilize the power locks.

For 96-98 models, since the lock control box is actually in the drivers door, not attached to the dash.
Since that lock control box is now inside the vehicle, not in the door. Some of the wiring had been shifted.. Meaning the rear wiper. I followed that guide to the T, it is not a simple affair for the 99-00 models.
I'll post up a pinning schematic from the Honda shop manual if you don't believe.. Or just search my old threads.
