My 94 Honda civic eg8 sedan - speedometer doesn't work
My speedometer doesn't work. It doesn't move . And when it does it goes the opposite way . Also , my gas meter moves a lot ! Like I'll be a half tank and when I'm driving it'll go down but when I'm at a full stop and wait like 5 min it'll go back to its original spot . How annoying -.- please help !

Re: My 94 Honda civic eg8 sedan problems
Check the connections on the back of the cluster first.
Main culprits would be grounding wires/blown fuse/bad cluster.
The speedometer could be the VSS, and the fuel light could be the fuel sending unit I believe, but those should be the last to check since they're both a problem. If anything, try a known working cluster.
Open the fusebox under the steering wheel and look at the Taillight/instrument/license late 10a fuse to see if it's not blown.

Re: My 94 Honda civic eg8 sedan problems
I had a similar problem in my old 92 dx, the speedometer would work sometimes and be all over the place other times. The solders on the back of the gauge cluster get old and crack and because there are so many if them and they are so tiny it's almost impossible to re solder. The only option is to replace it. I'm not sure if this is your problem exactly but it sounds like it and I've seen it on a few other older civics. Mind you mine had almost 300,000 miles.

That's the back of my cluster , maybe I should just replace the whole thing ? Can I get one from a different generation honda civic ? Or does it HAVE to be the same generation ?
