Icon2 Rolled odometer mileage back and now cluster doesn't work

have a 94 honda civic ex coupe. well i rolled back my miles inside cluster and i think now it messed up.. only thing that works on it now is SRS light. the RPM gauge dont work no more. and dont get check engine light no more either but car runs fine... anyone have any idea. i did rolled them back by hand so i think i could have broke something in side of it.. any suggestion on what to do or do i need another one now? could i be missing a ground or something on wiring harness too?

Isn't rolling back mileage still illegal?

I have to ask, what the hell gave you the idea that rolling back the odometer was a good idea? Please, enlighten me...

Yeah i don't understand why roll it back unless you're trying to sell it and say it doesn't have a lot of miles, even then it I'd wrong and illegal.

Say you bought a replacement speedo if your original one died, then it's not illegal to match the mileage on the new to the old.

Here's a quote from NOFX, just because:

It is LEGAL to roll an odometer in order to match the CHASSIS mileage. Say, for example, the original cluster is damaged or stolen.

It is ILLEGAL to roll an odometer in order to defraud another person. Rolling it to match the engine likely would fall under this category.

The discussion in this thread has strayed off topic into the arena of legality. Please refocus this discussion on the technical question posed by the OP, i.e., how to fix the cluster problem.

OP: Were you messing around with any wiring? Do your other dash lights work? It does sound like it could be a fuse or bad ground.

well i did paint the whole interior of car so i had everything taking out of car and now put back in.. so my wiring harness is all redone. cause of brake line tuck and wiring harness tuck. on my gauge cluster the two plugs are back in it. and also there is a single black wire for a ground coming off that harness that has a small single plug for it goes right behind and under gauge cluster some.. i can take picture if u like. the SRS light work on it. but no Check engine light. or rpms not working. or coolent temp fuel gauge i need to double check that.

bump for help plz... ronj.. so back working on car again... so here i just brought a used cluster off ebay from a good selling resuring me this cluster works no problems... so now pluged in still got same thing like before on my old cluster. just srs light turns on no rpm. miles. fuel or temp guage still not working..

i have done complete wire tire n brake line clutch line.. so everything has been moved around... have my fuse box in glove box under dash.. now car runs n drive fine.. just my problem is no cluster work and my turn signals done work. my head lights work. which are hids but plugged into factory harness. brake lights good just no turn signals no cluster but srs light.

as far as i can tell n see i have the one ground ccoming off cluster wiring harness in the factory spot right behind dash. n also have two grounds on left/driver side. under dash where main harness is ground n one more that is like tan in a lil box with like 5 grounds in it. looks like ur head lights ground box.. right now im lost in looking through everything to figure out whats wrong n why not working... also just to used the plug to make check engine light turn on n blink for codes that dont even work.. LOST help please..

possibly someone have wiring diagram to harness under dash or some thing thanks..

Your blinkers will not work when the hazard switch is removed. At least that's what I found in my 94 VX.
