Okay my car has a Ls swap in it.I have the non vtec b18a1 with a ls trans which is slow but not that slow. The civic brakes suck and I need to know how I can get some better brake rotors and pads without having to get new bearings. Please help

step 1: call Carbotech.

step 2: get their 1521 pads, and brand new rotors.

step 3: problem solved

You'll need some new brake fluid too. I'd recommend flushing out the entire system with new fluid, its really easy.

By the way, these pads can easily last 100,000 miles if you treat them right. I have had a set on my truck for 4 years before replacing the front pads.

Well civic rotors arent very good still. What im asking is if I can get some different rotors that will fit and work better.

If you are looking for aftermarket bigger brakes, the kit will allow everything to bolt up.

If you are looking for a cheaper oem upgrade, brakes from an integra are bigger, but you need the knuckle/spindle to go with it. The larger integra calipers wont bolt to the smaller civic knuckle.

I would like some recommendations on good brake pads. I have always used premium type pads from normal parts stores and they suck in general.

What are some good reasonably priced performance pads. I currently use 00 integra knuckles all the way around which is disc and is i think 10.4" on the front and the typical baby size disc on the back.

I know some people are not fans of them on here but I put HAWK HP Plus pads on my 96 CX and noticed a difference in braking.

are they tough on the rotors? I want some good pads that dont beat up on the rotors too bad but want good braking all the while.

Any info on ebc brand? i heard good and bad about them

I heard they were good now. But when they first came out not so much.
Akebono has superior stopping capacity with minimal brake dust.

where do you get akebono pads? I bought some "nissin" brand oem pads and they just aren't that great to be honest.

how is a set of 18 dollar pads gonna make any stopping power increase over the 50 dollar pads that are on the car now that dont perform well.

I am not feeling the vgx pads man, are you joking around or being serious

Don't let the cheaper price fool you. I had the same setup as the OP and that's the exact brake pads I used. Just because it's not OVERPRICED like your brake pads...doesn't mean it's bad/cheap quality.

This. On the street, I use Hawk blues (HPS) and on the track, Hawk Blacks (HP Plus). Been through too many sets of pads to remember, and these have been the best to me.

Going to have to +1 on the Hawk blues and brake flush. I've used Hawks on 3 different cars and have been pleased with them.

I have hawks currently on 3 cars, cleaning rims is a pain though since they all have HP Plus on them on all 4 wheels

That's why I use blues on the street, and blacks on the track only the blues are a lot easier on brake dust.

If your Civic is an EX ot already has the 10.3 disc same as Integra. The Knuckle s are the same but the piston on the calipers are suppose to be a little larger. And the pads are a little larger as well.

pull a part might be harder than you think to find honda parts. I would try H motors if it comes down to it. or craigslist
