ls vtec
i just swapped an lsvtec into my car i have an obd2 wireharness. the car runs fine but the problem that im having is that the tachometer doesnt work and the speedometer was like the tach is suppose to and the battery light is on. anybody has any suggestions and what it could be?

i would make sure the battery terminals are tight, as well as all ground wires.
as for the speedometer, did you connect the vss at the tranny?

yeah the speed sensor is connected. when i rev the car the speedometer acts as if its the tach and moves up and down

hmmm...this might be the rot to your problem. someone correct me if i'm wrong but i believe obd1 motors have 2 connectors at the distributor. when you say you are using a obd2 wire harness, do you mean a jumper harness at the ecu, or does that include the motor harness as well?

its an obd2 engine harness. i dont understand how the speedometer signal and the tachometer signal are crossed ( im assuming)

neither do i, but i do know that the tach works and is wired off of the dist. maybe that has something to do with your problem. sorry i couldn't be much help!

everything worked fine when the ls was in there now i swapped in my project motor and the wires are acting like they are crossed

Yeah. Get OBD1 injectors and a distributor and wire your car properly. I guarantee it'll fix the problem.
