Default LOWERING Oil Pressure... What Oil To Run? Additives? Temporary Fix Need Help

Ive got a oil burning problem, aparently due to some shitily placed oil control rings

My motor only burns oil and smokes when fairly cold, at idle and when compression breaking and when oil psi is above 25psi

I would like to make it so that my oil gets up to operating temp faster (im running no thermo so I doubt that helps) and so that my oil pressure would stay down thus keeping oil from slipping passed the ring possibly

It only smokes at idle for some reason, pisses me off and its embarrassing. Hope this can hold me off if it works until winter.

Thanks guys

Just add more for now. Low pressure + load = spun bearing.

It only smokes when coming to a stop and when the pressure goes OVER 40PSI

I can definetely remedy this I beleieve, definetely need to put the thermonback in to heat the oil up quicker, maybe some very thin oil and osme addidtives

I dont know what the problem is though

well i heard smaller oil filters increase oil pressure. so maybe a bigger oil filter?

if your looking for alittle more oil pressure. pick an oem oil filter(now that they are smaller). and when you do your oil change add a clamp onto an oil filter. boosts pressure alittle bit.

i'd just pull the engine and rebuild it... rings and a borehone, head gasket, etc only takes a week.. a blown engine.. well thats all fun

You wont be able to do much to get the oil pressure as low as you want it. Best to do, like said already, is rebuild with new rings (if thats what you think it is). This mickey mouse cure is going to cause alot more problems for your motor in the long run.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who thinks this is a terrible idea.

Im not rebuilding the motor unless it blows, simple as that

I obviously dont want it to blow

I want to lower the oil pressure, to me it seems like the only solution to keep my car on the road without smoke. How thin of oil I can run and keep my engine lubricated is another thing
