JDM B16 surged then acted like it didnt want to get out of its own way
ok this happened to me last night i dont know what caused it all i know i was driving the engine surged a bit then the car acted like it didnt want to get out of its own way. i will put a list of stuff i have done so far:
PLATFORM:jdm b16 in a 4 door ex-a civic with a chipped p28 and nology wires
things done:
checked plugs
checked fast idle vale(the thing under the throttle)
checked idle valve (behind throttle body)
changed distributor cap
checked injectors to see if one does not work
checked for vac leaks
checked starter
checked firing order
is there anything else that come to mind that i am missing??
********UPDATE***************
I noticed inside of my ecu the right side (big plug in) is corroded inside...being that im in arkansas there are not alot of tuners here so imma probably gonna start there to see is maybe if thats my problem...

Re: CIVIC SOUNDS LIKE A SUBARU..WTF
Rust on the ecu.....is this a flood vehicle? If not, the ecu may have been left outside in the elements...mainly rain. If it wasn't a chipped ecu, I would say try another to test it out. Of course, not everyone is going to have an extra P30 ecu laying around you can borrow for usage.

^^^ it's one of the plug wires. I had MSD plug wires before and one of them messed up. If the car can't go pass 35mph....that's the culprit because you are running on 3 cylinders.

Part of the problem with this thread is your sparse description of the problem. "Sounds like a Subaru" and "didn't want to get out of its own way" don't say very much.
Is the engine misfiring or is it just experiencing a loss of power? Any CEL codes? If it's just a power loss, check for clogged cat, if you have one.
