b16 idle problem....please help
I cleaned my throttle body out a little bit and cleaned off the spark plugs....didnt unhook anything. I didnt even take the throttle body off when i cleaned it, just sprayed some cleaner in there then wiped it out. Used sand paper on the spark plugs, just kinda rubbed the carbon off of it and then put it back in with anti sieze and even torqed it right. So, i start it up and drive to my house and when im going down the road, it was kinda sputtering and a check engine light came on...when i stopped at a light, i noticed it was idleing wierd, going from 1000 to 2000 up and down consistantly.....so yea, i kinda look it over and didnt see anything. take off the iac motor thing off and cleaned it out, put it back on and it seemed to be fine just idleing. But when you drive down the road for like a mile or two and then come to a stop it would do it again.....any idea or suggestions of what this might be? thanks.
im having the same problem right now with my eg. and i done some research.
1. check for any vacuum leaks
2.check all gaskets having to do with intake manifold
2. try bleeding your coolant, usually by the radiator hose or themostat housing
3. check your iacv sensor, try cleaning it or replacing.
4. also if you get a check engine light, check the code or get a diagnostic.
