Heater Core problem??!?
When the engine is warm the heat will work fine for a few minutes and then just cut out and get completely cold. Also, when the temperature slider is on hot it leaves a film above the dash on the windshield, smells sweet like antifreeze, and the coolant level slowly drops. I have access to the heater core and there is no sign of any leaks, and I can't find any sign of wetness around/below the core either. The carpet would be stained if it were leaking, right?
I also checked the valve on one of the coolant hoses on the other side of the firewall and it isn't stuck; it moves freely along with the slider on the climate control.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know. This really sucks and its below freezing today so I need to fix this asap. Thanks

Re: Heater Core problem??!? (lthao61)
I let it sit for a couple days to make sure everything was completely dry, then warmed up the engine and slid the temp slider to hot for a couple minutes and shut it down. After checking EVERYTHING to be sure, I discovered it was only a hose after all. It only leaks when under pressure (when the climate control is set to hot) which is why I didn't notice it earlier I guess.
Thanks for the help anyway lthao.
