i used to run my gsr with boltons with a chipped p28 but was unsure of the chip i had in it. i also used that comp on a jdmb16 also with good results but if its a stock gsr a p72 would do just fine as well as with some minor bolt ons

If you're going to do it right and put it on a dyno and get it chipped and tuned then P28, stock GS-R basemaps at the very least. Otherwise use a stock P72. Do not get some mugen/spoon ebay chip.

p28 doenst have iab. so if you still have your stock manifold, just use the p72. if you swap out the manifold for a blox skunk with that chipped ecu, you will feel the difference

P28 wont even look for a knock sensor.

getting an obd 1 gsr engine harness wouldnt matter because if you run a p28 it still wouldnt read the knock sensor. The z6 never had one so it wouldnt matter. If you wanted to run the knock sensor and dual butterflies then you would need an obd1 p72.

Run the p72 if running the stock intake manifold. But if you have r cams and a single stage type intake use a p28 and get it tuned. Either way it should run good. GL

That should have been your last option.... one thing that goes without saying is always keep the original harness with the car unless you've got no other choice. You should just take the stock harness that was in the car, and now that you have it out go in and look at all those "splices" that are in it and put them back to stock... the splices could key you in on problems with the car that you don't know about yet. He might have put them in there to band-aid some bigger problems with the car! Good luck and if you can't get another knock sensor in there that P28 will get your Vtec working, but the unmodified P72 is better until you get the bugs worked out in your new setup.

don't get frustrated with it too much man, I understand your wanting it to run and run correctly, but just think of how happy you're going to be if you get it running...

And I would run the stock p72 until you could get the chip reburned..
If it is a chip from ebay like the skunk2's and such, they suck anyways and aren't reburnable..
