p28 or p72
No. The P28 is not setup stock with the proper maps for a GSR. I'm not sure why you'd want to trade anyway. The P72 is worth more. If you're trying to get a tunable ECU you can have yours chipped. If the P28 is chipped and you want to trade your stock P72 for it in order to have a tunable ECU, it's almost a decent deal. Just make sure it's already programmed to run your GSR engine.
The P28 is tuned for a D16z6, the maps don't deliver the fuel and timing a GSR needs. On top of that the P28 can't control the Intake Air Butterflies so you lose out there as well.
but heres the thing.. i bought the p72 off of craigslist from some kid with an accord. i think it may be chipped. i opened it up nothing after market at all ... i tried to locate any different resistors and didn't seem to find anything. my ecu vtec pops at different rpms at different gears. ex 1-2-3-4-5 is 5k-5k-45k-45-45k. and some times i get confused bc they pop differently ... also the car is running rich ...having a white car and a black rear sucks
hr tuning.. i checked these guys out from your links they are pretty close to me. are the any good? http://www.xenocron.com/index.php

Yes, chipping your ECU when you're ready for tuning is the best route to go. It may be chipped already, you can easily find out by popping the cover off... but VTEC will come in at different RPMs depending on the load you're at.
Chris (Xenocron) is great to deal with. He'll take care of anything you need.

stock p72 engage at 45. i found stock guage rpm not 100 percent, my 2000 si cluster vtec kick in at 5200-5400, but when i'm tuning with crome, it show, 5000 everytime. so i would pay too much attention, but if u are having vtec sometime then don't, need to double check your wiring and also any cel. but come down to it, there something p28 don't have compare p72, is the knock sensor board, u can get a kit to have one for p28.
Well here's the problem is the p28 chip for what? What kind map? Second I wouldn't let go a p72 ecu over a p28, u cab get chipped kit cheap and get a base map burn for u. I would love to run p72 instead p28. The knock board is up to u. Is something u have to decide if u gonna run knock or not, with Crome u can disable knock in p72 ecu. But sound like u already made up ur mind. Go with either
