Gothca. Five feet sounds about right, but what I would do is get up under the dash with a long section of solid core wire. Shape and bend the wire to mimic the route you want to take from the ecu to where you intend to pass through the firewall. Do the same on the engine side of the firewall to the point where you want the harness to begin to break out. Straighten your two sections of wire and measure. Add 6" so you are confident that you have enough slack.

So let me get this straight, i de-pinned the blk/yellow wire from the IACV that took me to the fat plug with all yellow wires, then the other plug blu/white took me to the multi colored plug. So now i take both these wires, cut them down to the proper length, then solder, wrap, ect...
Then maybe find spare ECU plugs at the junkyard (dont have any at the moment) and put both wires (last pic) directly to the ecu? then do that for the rest of the sensors?

stop buying from chase and go see wireworx, i feel so bad for all u chase horror story guys....rywire is good but really expensive
this is just a small sneak peek of what goes on inside of harnesses, concentric twisting with kapton tape... truly pro level harnesses better priced than rywire and chase....
just saying!!

I seen a CB milspec in Xaviers core stash, lol. Wireworx owns. Very few in this country have a good work ethic and take pride in what they do anymore. I have purchased several harnesses from him so far and not a single one has had an issue.

I thought wireworx harnesses were higher prices than rywire?
I have a rywire harness I bought for dirt cheap (brand new still in bag) and I see a lot of things that could be fixed. For one the sensor plug seals don't cover the wire. They are over sized and offer no protection.
My sensor plug with new seals:
Rywire:
New seal but it's open so defeats the purpose
Alternator plug

I have a question that I cannot figure out. It is about relocating the battery. I understand how the wiring is done via this diagram.
In this picture I get how the harness is ran but I get confused when I look at the Rywire charge harness.
Why would there be ring terminals on both sides of the starter wire? Shouldn't it be ring terminal on the side that attaches to starter and then open on the other side where it is integrated into the positive battery terminal connector?
In this case it looks like it is fuse box to starter and fuse box to alternator so where is the battery to fuse box??

I've heard good things about Wireworx, and if I ever have another project where I need a harness I'll probably go that route. From what I read his prices are fair, and he is far far easier to deal with.

all this talk about harnesses had me looking at some, it seems they are at least $550 on the cheap end and can work their way up to 1200+ WOW. I know wiring appears to be black magic of some type haha (hate wiring all but the simplest of circuts) but damn that is a lot! I was thinking $200ish would be the norm!

Damn, the harness thing really popped off the last few pages. Wish I understood how to make one still. Somebody should make a DVD video or something, more money in your pocket lol.....feel free to use the idea.

Definitely going to check out Wireworx for my next build, not to get too off topic but what's the wait time on one of those?
I currently have a Rywire one, I have no complaints. Rywire answered a few questions I had very quickly and was super helpful. The only thing was it took a while to get my harness and it was a little pricey.

I'm 3-4 days to ship. Wireworx you would be better off to ask them directly on a wait time

everyone has gone up or will go up on the harness prices soon, your basic material is copper and the price of it right now is insane. I was going to buy some romex at Home Depot and I feel I should get a free armored truck rental to transport the stuff
