ummm clock spring . . . what? why do you want to remove SRS, are you putting an aftermarket steering wheel on?

leave the clock spring in but u should be good as long as u have the module out. u can pull the crash sensors if u want but it doesnt matter. your srs light is going to stay on so u might want to pull that bulb so u dont have to look at it and it will set the codes for the srs system but u will ok on that part

Re: srs complete removal questions? (smetzger)
to my knowledge it WAS a felony until a few years ago when they decided the driver should have the option (for kids and whatnot) to turn off the airbag
I've been wondering for some time (since airbags cost so much and I drive alone 99% of the time) would it be possible to install an ordinary aftermarket switch to turn you pass side airbag on and off?

I bought my car with blown airbags and just replaced the covers. I am going to pull my SRS bulb so I don't have to look at it anymore. As far as being illegal I highly doubt that. Who would check this and how would it be done? I have cars that I have rebuilt and the inspectors never care about airbags or anything like that.

I removed the SRS system a while ago on my 99 accord both bags, modual, and harness. The light never came on and there are no codes. The only way you can tell other then the aftermarket steering wheel is with honda's scan tool and all it tells you is there is no communication. But answer your question you can leave the clock spring alone if you just want a stock steering wheel.

Re: (Turbowa)
Question is, can I install an aftermarket switch to turn my passenger side airbag on and off? If I get in a small fender bender I gotta replace the pass side airbag even though I drive alone 99% of the time.

to my knowledge it's only illegal to sell a car with out bags but as i was told at a seminar i went to it is because the buyer could sue if the title was still in your name and they had an accident. but i bought mine with out anyways cause the ******* was going to charge me 600 bucks more for them in the car. and it was already a pile sooo.... i started gutting the car and removed the module and figured i'd get rid of the rest as long as the dash and everything else was out

Please, no more stories or legalities.
Can you or can you not rewire your passenger side airbag with a switch to turn it on or off? I'm not familiar enough with wire diagrams, not to mention I don't want it shorting out and going off.
