Jacking Points

Jacking Points
Other than the four designated jack points, are there any other safe areas to jack the car from using a floor jack? I saw an area in the front of the car near the bumper and radiator of exposed metal frame that looked good but I would like to be sure. Thanks.

That should be fine. I use it all the time. Just make sure to put jack stands on the other two places near the front doors.

I did this and the jack slipped $200 later my frame was bent back into shape. Lucky I didn't crack the radiator.
If you want to jack it up in front... look for a little tow hook. Stronger spot to jack with less chance of slipping.

ok man. thanks, but there are no tow hooks in the front, just one in the rear. is that really sufficient for jacking up the rear end? looks kinda flimsey. the thing is, if i want to jack up the car and put it on stands, there is no way to jack the car from the designated points and then slip a stand onto the same point. no room.

There is some metal thing that looks like a hook in the front and the back of my car. I used to jack my car from there all the time, no problem. I have 5 g Prelude. Find something similar.

I've used it many times. I think the '03 is probably the same but I'll try to remember to look...
