n00b question--EG jacking points
Searched and found a semi-useful post, but I'd like more info.
Since I just got a 'grown-up' floor jack, I'm wondering what the ideal front and rear jack points are for an EG. Are the tow hooks really strong enough to support the car???
What are some alternatives? The more specific, the better.
Thanks

Re: n00b question--EG jacking points (gamby)
The rear- I jack on the tow hook
The front- don't do the tow hooks or they'll bend. On my EK there's a tow spot at the bottom of the radiator support. It's a small metal spot thats a little lower than the rest twoards the drivers side a bit.

You can use the "I" support on the rear end, and for the front there is a lil metal spot on the driver side Radiator support(can't miss it). I believe the sides can be jacked up from a lil behind the fenders you should feel a notch. If you have any doubts about whether the spot you chose is a jack point refer to chiltons, helms ect.. for a visual. You don't wanna jack up your floor board . If your car is lowered use 2x4's to get a little more clearence for the jack.
The tow hooks are strong enough. I have heard that they bend up, but i have not experienced this.

Re: (mike93eh)
or you could use the jack points that are meant to be used.... where the FACTORY put them.
there are 4. right behind the sideskirts on the driver and passenger front and rear.
just behind the tire in front, and just in front of the tire in the rear... look like sideways capital I's hanging down about an inch from the body

Re: (Simple)
Thanks all. Appreciate the help.
The reason I was looking for points other than the factory ones under the rocker panels is because I want to put the car on jackstands. (wasn't specific enough )

Exactly why I jack from where I do. I'd much rather put the car on 4 jackstands *one at each stock jacking point under the rockers* than 2 (one on each position I mentioned.
