Got a problem...need some assistance...!!!!
Ok, here is the deal, I have a 90 accord ex with the DOHC f22b motor and h22 prelude transmission, and exedy clutch. My problem is as followed: 1st and 2nd gear in shift are pretty smooth, moving out of 2nd going into third (depending on the rpm) gives off a griding noise. If im stompin it going down the road and try to put it into third, it dosen't go easy unless i give it a hesitation, even though that still give me a grind. If im taking it easy, driving it normal, shifting is nice when im shifting into gears around 3500rpm. I have noticed when slowing down that it is hard to drop into 4th and 3rd (in shifting itself). I don't know what is going on, nor do I know if I need to explain this anymore to get a possible reason for this problem. Please, if you have any input, let me know because this tranny isn't that old and im not wanting to have to drop a new one.

sounds like you have one or more bad synchros you shouldnt have to put in a new transmission, take it to a tranny shop and get an estimate on repair costs, shouldnt be TOO bad

well how many miles were put on that transmission and how hard was it driven? If youve got say, 80,000 miles of relatively hard driving on that tranny, things like syncros are going to break.

it was the guys every day car so i don't believe that he was doggin it out, from what the paper work shows, it looks like it has about 78k on it, but only about 20-25 from the time of the swap.

see, the accord that i had with the h22 complete swap was nothing like this, the shifting was nice and smooth no matter what rpm

Switching the tranny fluid in this case isn't going to do much. Save your pennies and have the tranny rebuilt with new syncros. I would rather do that then buy another used tranny for the same cost and not know what you are getting. Atleast with the rebuild you will know everything is new inside.
