for some reason when i'm driving when i switch to 3rd gear it grinds but it doesnt do it all the time just when i'm driving real fast and sometimes even when i'm just cruising yo somebody let me know wht up

 

Sounds like you have a worn syncronizer. I have heard of people trying GM Syncromesh fluid, and some other types of fluid to smooth out the problem. Replacing the worn parts is really the only way to solve the problem.

 

oh aight i had changed the slave but it minimized it but my boy waz like i could be switching gears to early or some ****

 

do you refer to all your friends as "my boy" ? sounds jolly good my boy. shifting to early would not produce a noise. riding the clutch, not using the clutch, missshifting, would cause a nice grind. otherwise its as said before. is it like a fat *** grind and its throwing it out of gear, or just a little click ?

I had the same prob in my H22, but in 3rd and 5th. I put in GM synchromesh FM(I have LSD) and ALL the grinds are gone now. The only way to fix the prob is with new parts, but GM Syn will get by ....

 

3rd gear syncro usally goes out first in our trannys! Put GM syncro mesh and start saving!
