Default Cooling issues... help with diagnossing the problem

I'm having issues with my 95 V6 EXR accord cooling system, Now the temp gauge reads normal most of the time (sits at about a quarter). But on warm days when I'm doing long periods of stop and go driving the temp will go up to about half maybe a little more when i stop at a light. Then when i start driving again it drops.

Now I'm pretty much a noob but I've been doing some research and this is what i know:

The coolant level is full
The coolant isn't leaking that I can see
I don't think I'm losing any pressure at the rad cap
When the gauge says the engine is hot (about half) both rad hoses are hot and firm
I've inspected the fan blades - okay
the fan motor works I've seen both fans turn it seems to push alot of air (I think it may not be kicking in at the right temp?)
As far as I know the water pump is working

I think the fan control modual is disconnected I can't see any wires connected to it and there is a blue plug haning next to it with 2 wires (I just bought the car it was like that. Makes me wonder if it's craped out) ?

Now I havn't tried anything yet but I'm thinking either a thermostat, coolant temp switch, or oil temp switch problem. Could someone tell me exactlly what the two switches and fan control modual do or if you know of where I could find a flow chart of how the cooling fan circuit works?

I need help, what should I do I don't want to just start changing parts ***** nilly. Any other thoughts on what the problem could be, or how to fix it would be greatly appreiciated. I'm not too woried yet but summers coming and i don't think my engine will stay cool enough on a really hot day..... help

If your certain both fans are working and your full of coolant (after cracking open the bleeder)
Be sure your thermostat is opening fully (and at the right temprature) and that your radiator isn't clogged.

How do i check the tstat opening temp? If i have to pull it out to check it would it be easier to just replace it, and if so, what temp should i go for honda recommends 194 F, some of the OEM tsat's I've looked at are 170, and 180? Also how do I check for cloges in my rad?

Thanks

i just noticed that you said the gauge reads about 1/2 ?? or slightly above ??

well that is normal operating temp .....car is not overheating,, especially on hotter days and a lot of city driving,,

both hoses hot, means t-stat is opening, both fans coming on ,, ok..

you might be chasing a ghost ..

Normal really? I've never had a car thats done that. Is that specific to the v6? My sister drives a 95 i4 Vtec and her gauge never moves past a a quarter. Now not to be missunderstood when I say warm days I'm talking early spring in canada like 60 F.

The other thing I'm concerned about is the Fan Control modual/timer ( the one under the glove box) Mines not plugged in I bought the car like that. What does the modual do? Do I need it, it must serve some purpose?

it's job is to cool the car down after the car is turned off. Since you live in Canada I wouldn't worry too much about it. But if you venture down to the stares I would make sure to have it plugged up and working.

did you see a place for that blue plug to go? Sounds to me like it might be the jumper plug to read CELs

Now I haven't pulled the glove box but from what I can seen there is the fan control modual and attached to it a blue double socket, side by side, for the same shaped blue plug hanging down from the glove box. The blue plug has two wires attached to it one red and the other green I think.
