Default Initial start-up and high temp.??? help

I just started my benson sleeved and built B16 and ran it for the 10 min. that was recommended. I noticed when I went to shut it off that the temo was way high. I added coolant to the system but didn't bleed it yet, plus a new water pump, and thermostat. What could this be caused by??? Thanks for any help

Going to bleed the system and ya, for some reason the fan didn't kick on either. I'll have to look into both of those.

if there is alot of air in the system the fan will not kick on even if the gauge is reading high.

Thanks for the update on the fan. I did on the other hand find out that I forgot to wire in the water temp sender to the car, not just the autometer gauge. Oops. I fixed the problem. All I need now is to change the oil and wait for Sept. 29th for my tune date. on your build 86si. I don't if you remember me from when JDogg did the tune on your buddies motor you built. I can't wait to see what this new benson bottom end and p&p does for my set-up.
