sounds like a good deal, but without knowing options or condition, or service records, my statement is worthless. You might be able to get the car for $850, but then you might have to sink another $500 into it to make it roadworthy.

Curious, where are you in NJ?

Hopefully it was garage kept. Winters in NJ aren't too kosher for our cars, especially an older one

If you aren't very familiar with cars, then set up an appointment with a local garage to have them give it a once over, preferably one you have done business with in the past. If that does not sound like something you would want to do, then just check the level and color of all the fluids, tread depth on all the tires. Drive the car with the radio OFF and listen for any unusual sounds. Let the car warm up, and then listen to the engine for any strange noises or erratic idle, as well as the exhaust for any leaks. Don't be surprised if you have to put some money into the car, but for 800 bucks and a little investment you could have a reliable car. Being that the car is so old and northeast winters are rough, expect some rust over the back tires, but don't let that turn you away. If something like that matters, then you should consider saving your money for a newer car.

Alot of CB's and CD's also have window problems, it's covered alot on here, nothing to worry about. The motors just need replacing.

More than likely the car will have cancer on the quarter panel as mentioned, it really isn't a big deal.

Run like the motherexpletiveing wind if its an automatic. The trans will poop out within 20,000 miles if it's already near 200,0000.

Look at the service paperwork the current owner has in her possession. Specifically focus on the timing belt and water pump replacement. With the mileage, those parts will need to be replaced again, unless she's done it recently. I own a '92 Accord with only 110K miles, and I could probably get about $1200 for it. So, $850 may not be a bad price depending on the prior maintenance records and the interior/exterior shape of the car.
Steerh67 had some good advice, so check his recommendations too.
Bottom line, take it for a test drive, with your mechanic in the pax seat to listen for noises out of the ordinary.
Good luck,
