Default Should I buy this Accord or not?

MY09 San Marino Red V6 EX-L Coupe with Nav... 6MT.
95k miles, 1 owner, vehicle body is in perfect shape. Car was traded in at a friends dealership, theyre willing to give it to me for $15k fully serviced (including upcoming t-belt, etc).

Good deal or not?

How old is your friend and is he a fan of F&F? You get where I'm going with this. Since you are not a newbie, I get to the point.

Yes, good deal. Lot of miles, but I would still take it at $15K.

I dont get the F&F reference, they run the biggest Honda dealership in my state. I assume Im being offered a great deal, I just wanted to make sure.

Sorry, it was late and just got through the NBA game. Mindset was not right, so I should not stay away from the tech section. And misread.

I meant to say, find out if the 1st owner was some high school kid, or like to beat on their cars. If not, and was owned by a responsibile adult and well maintanence, go for it.

BTW, as reference, a 08 or 09 (don't recall now) sedan was listed by my dealership for $18K with 98K miles. V6 EX-L with Nav. I'm sure one can knock a bit off of that too. So your $15K is within the ball park.

It was owned by an much older gentlemen (think George Knighton) and was driven from RI to NH every week (hence the 95k) and all services were done.

I think Im going to go for it.

Just read the 6MT gets 17/25. Compared to my 05 G35 coupe, its about the same mileage, however that had VLSD, 28 more hp, and was RWD.

Im torn at the moment. -.-

Let's look at a few things.

- J35 is happy with 87 gas. The VQ35 need premium. Save money there.

- VQ35 sounds so sexy in stock form that J35 guys just can't duplicate.

- Are you married + kids? The Accord is an Accord. The G35 is a Z. The extra space will come in handy later (?).

- I think Accord need to be lowered, because like all FWD, it has the 4X4 look. G35's stance looks great in OEM form.

- I personally like FWD, and is a fan of it. Maybe I've never push a car that hard or driven a BMW. Actually, I have track a Mazda 3 and Miata at a Mazda event. I actually like the 3 better (not to say Miata was bad at all). So FWD vs RWD is a moot point.

- The Accord even in EX-L is not an Acura, so expect some hard plastic and cheap leather. Than again, I'm not all that impress with the G35s (Gen 1 and Gen 2) in terms of feel. I can see/feel cost cutting vs higher line Infiniti or Lexus. So moot also.

Thats what kills me I used to sell Hondas and the one thing I hated about the Accord was the plastic interior pieces. I think the body lines are sexy as hell, and from a performance aspect theyre not that far apart from each other. Well see after the test drive I guess. BTW no kids and 26 years old for the win.

I used to own a Gen 7 Accord too. And felt the interior quality and material was on par for a Honda.

My first impression stepping into a Gen 8 was WTF....Cheap plastic. And is this really leather?????

Sadly, it's cost cutting FTL. Oh...and that's on par compare to other brands now. Sad.

It's like to get the same feel-good plastic, vinyl and leather, one would need to get a $45,000 car.

Took a test drive, the car checks out perfectly. All service paper work from an Acura dealership was in the car, performed and sounds great.

Ill be finishing up the paperwork tomorrow, then having it stay over night for the t-belt service and a full detail. The head mechanic was impressed with the condition of the vehicle.

San Marino Red excites me

Have them look at the rear brakes too. The *< 2010 Accords don't have the V springs, and cheap pads so they wear out. My 10 manufacture date was just before it. Just had my brakes done 3 weeks ago, and now filing my claim on the class action lawsuit. Now they installed the V springs and new pads.

Your miles may be all hwy, so the past owner may not used the brakes as much as the mileage would indicate.

I've read the newer "leather" is not leather in the Honda's.

And, tell them you want the old T-Belt, that will ensure they actually did the work. (Yes, I've seen it not done, and been told it was)

It's "leather," it's just that the coating Honda used is probably thicker than the actual skin.

I don't recall all the color combination on the coupe, but red cars have tan interior. That "leather" can stain with blue jeans. So be careful and use care, maybe have a towel on your jean days.

Why? I don't really understand it and this happens on other Honda cars too (now). It does not happen on the gray and black.
