sound in my tranny
Friday i broke a tooth off my main shaft of my ITR tranny at the track and had a race to be ready for sat morning , i located a ITR trans that had a grinding third gear so i stayed up all night and i split both cases and just swapped the main shaft assembly over to the trans i broke the tooth on, now i get a sound when ever i am off the gas and coasting with a load, out of gear and driving normal and accelerating i have no issues. is it a shim issue or perhaps the broken tooth scarred my diff gear? i inspected the diff gear but saw no marks from the bad main shaft gear, i probably should have also swapped the diff gears, i couldnt swap diffs due to mine being a USDM and having a sealed type bearing and the pare ITR is JDM and has cone style.

Failure to shim mainshaft = New ISB and outer mainshaft bearing.
What was the case clearance between the halves before tightening down?

Re: sound in my tranny
it all fit and spun good, im probably gonna just buy a GSR trans any way, i just wanted to be ready for saturdays race, I will just sell the ITRs as parts trannys to some one, heck the diffs alone go for 400 used on ebay. that or buy a gsr trans and put the ITR diff in it and sell the other diff and ITR parts.
