new swapped tranny making whine noise, is it input shaft bearing or something else?
Swapped in a z6 tranny today and after it was all said and done and I took it for a drive you could hear a while when accelerating and climbing through the rpms. You could hear it best in 1st gear and in 2nd gear it gets fainter, but in 3rd, 4th and 5th you cant hear it. It only whines when there is a load on the tranny such as rolling in gear and accelerating in gear. With the clutch down or car shifted into neutral the sound goes away. Searched through the archives and many people say its either the input shaft bearing or main bearing. Can someone help me narrow this down?
