Re: Reverse Problem (Mr_Moos)
cause it's not all the way in or your tranny is going to go soon.
When shiting into reverse you must do this first
1) come to a complete stop
2) shift into another gear, proably first
3) keep the clutch in the whole time
4) then shift into reverse calmly and cleanly.
5) Now let the clutch up and back up with out running over your neighbours cat.
Reverse doesn't have a syncro so you must use the syncro of another gear to stop the lay shaft from spinning.
Cheers.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Mr_Moos »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">why would 5th have anything to do w/ reverse????</TD></TR></TABLE>simple the transmission has three shift forks, one for 1/2, another for 3/4, and one last one for 5/R. so if R is popping out, 5th will follow! it could also be a shift fork problem, as it might be wearing on one side more than the other! i hope i make sence
